Your Complete Guide to Recruitment!
Hey PNMs! As you prepare yourself for recruitment, here are some tips from Alpha Delta Pi to keep in your back pocket :)
1. BE YOURSELF
Let your personality shine. The members of each chapter want to get to know all the things that make you YOU! Share your story - passions, interests, and future goals while you’re a student here at C of C. Whether simple or bold, style your outfits and accessories to represent your uniqueness.

2. KEEP AN OPEN MIND
Keeping an open mind during the recruitment process will work to your benefit! Having your sights on one specific sorority at the start will impede the process. Be open to learning about several chapters that you think fit your personality. Trust me, you will come to a deeper understanding of each house during each round and may be surprised how your mindset may change. When you open your options, you will allow the right sorority to find you.

3. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR PI CHI’S
The Pi Chi’s are there as a guide and your ultimate resource to get you through the recruitment process. Ask them anything, tell them anything; they are there to listen. Recruitment can (will) be mentally and physically draining. Reach out and utilize their guidance. Remember, they have been in your shoes and have seen it all! Seriously…they are the best!

4. TAKE NOTES
Information is going to be flying! After your time at each house, it is helpful to write down as much info as you can remember. Take a moment at the end of each day to reflect on the chapters you visited and give credit to your gut feelings. During my experience, I often found myself frantically scribbling notes and voice texting myself thoughts while running from house to house.

5. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS
Just as we want to learn about you, take the opportunity to learn as much as possible about each chapter to find your perfect fit. Engage in conversation that will give you a good understanding of each chapter. Recruiters love to feel like you are interested!

6. DISCOURAGEMENT
It is easy to be disappointed and hard on yourself if things don’t play out the way you anticipated. Take a deep breath. It's crucial that you continue to keep a positive mindset and attitude after each round! I know it's cliche; however, it is true when everyone tells you everything happens for a reason. So on that note, go where you are celebrated!

7. GET TO KNOW YOUR RECRUITMENT GROUP
Embrace the opportunity to meet the girls in your recruitment group. This is such a great opportunity to make connections and build relationships. Although unnerving at the start of this new experience, this is a group of girls that you will connect with and become close to. Even though you all may go different ways, these friendships will continue through your college career.

8. PACK THE ESSENTIALS
Extra slip-on shoes (comfort, comfort, comfort!) 🩴
Bandaids (your blistered feet will thank you) 🙏
Water and electrolyte drinks (the brutal Charleston August heat is real) 💦
Snacks (don’t let yourself get hangry, lol) 🍎
Paper and pen (As I said, keep those notes!) 📝
Brush and lip gloss (a girl’s essentials)💄
Oil blotting sheets (again, don’t underestimate the Charleston heat) ☀️
9. REST
Take care of yourself! While recruitment is exciting, it can be very stressful and exhausting. Hydrate, fuel your body with good nutrition, and try to get a good night's rest! Trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

10. EMBRACE YOUR NEW HOME AND GET TO KNOW YOUR SISTERS
What a fun way to start your college journey! Relish in the excitement that you and your new sisters are experiencing together. Actively engage and get to know your new family. ADPI has not only allowed me to be a part of an amazing group of girls but I'm truly blessed to call these girls my best friends.

So, with that being said… potential new members, I wish you the best of luck. Remember to be true to yourself, keep your head up high, and have fun! Everything happens for a reason. You got this.
Xoxo
